Introduction
This is the presentation of a town called Uden. Uden is located in the south of Holland, in a region called 'de Peel'. Since the beginning of time nothing has happened in this part of the world and as far as we can see now, nothing is gonna happen ever. Maybe that's the reason why the inhabitants of Uden are also know as retards. As a whole Uden is one gigantic bubble! |

Activities
As told in the introduction nothing of signifigance even happened in Uden. With exeption of the Dutch painter Piet Mondriaan no famous person ever lived in the town. No great statesman, no TV personality.
There never was any industry, the entire population is unemployed and very poor.
The only action ever taken, is an attempt to put up an olive oil industry, which is absolutly stupid, because there isn't a single olive tree in the nearby surroundings of 1000 kilometres.
On the other hand it's a good illustration of the reason why people from Uden are called retards. |

Piet Mondriaan
It's a well known fact that the famous Dutch painter Piet Mondriaan has lived some time in Uden, after which he fled to the United States. He never returned to the little village.
What ever happened with Mondriaan in Uden, is a mystery that probably never will be solved. But one thing is for sure: from the day Mondriaan sailed for America, he never wanted to hear the name of Uden again in his presence!
